Lili Miura
Lili was born in Tokyo Japan and spent her early years in the Tokyo fashion and arts world, developing a unique style profiling a distinct Pan-Asian perspective. Since moving to the United States years ago, she assimilated into American culture and has had a long and successful career as a creative graphic designer and art director. Most recently she has dedicated her time to painting fine art.
Her artwork takes a multicultural view of social, cultural, and political issues. In her work, She often paints figure art as a focal point, incorporating into the art objects and symbolism from Japanese culture. Subtle messages are juxtaposed in backgrounds with artistic expressions. Her themes often unveil subtle expressions and sensuality. She layers in imaginary icons and poems to further infuse her vision of cross-cultural art.
Lili is a Taiko drummer with Improv Taiko (South Bay, formerly Taiko Center of LA, Satori Daiko performing group) , and Togen Daiko (Oxnard)

Many of her pieces explore the use of iconic imagery that reflects nationalistic heritage, music, and longstanding cultural history of Japan and connection with being a Japanese American. Along with this Exhibition, Lili Miura also performed with her Taiko Performance Group to bring a rare but exciting experience, even inviting guests to learn and try the taiko as well.
