JC Tolon

"Hello, my name is JC I started my photography during my time within the USMC as an infantry traveling where I was exposed to many different cultures and served alongside refugees from Afghanistan. As someone who is Filipino American, I see myself as part of the AAPI community. I grew up in Inglewood surrounded by many of America’s minority communities. Those experiences shaped the way I see people and the way I approach photography."

Exhibition Description

"I see myself as a combat cameraman I love doing photography at night. I would also take the time to go to LA Skid Row to help those who are need and take photos. My work is rooted in documenting people as they are — with honesty, vulnerability, and humanity."
