Imperfect Balance: An Abstract Art Exhibition | Reception

We are excited to showcase the works of the following photography artists:

Matthew Michael Ross, MMR is a Los Angeles–based artist working in acrylic on textured canvas. His approach draws on a lifelong interest in abstract expressionism and impressionism, exploring the interplay of color, texture, and gesture. He minored in art at the University at Albany in New York, where his studies included recreating works in the style of Jasper Johns. He later spent a year in France, making frequent visits to the Louvre to study its collections. Years of visiting galleries and attending art openings in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and Italy have continued to shape his eye and his relationship with painting. Having sold paintings in earlier years and exhibited photography during Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk, MMR is now bringing renewed attention to his painting practice, with acrylic and textured canvas at the center of his…
